Maui Activities
What are the best things to do in Maui, Hawaii? We have the answer. Below we've listed Maui activities that we've personally done on more than 1 occasion and are our favorites.
Some of our favorites
Snorkeling Molokini Crater & Maui Sunset Sailing
Sail to Molokini from Maalaea Harbor on the Four Winds II for a smooth trip and a beautiful catamaran. This vessel was specifically designed for trips to Molokini Crater. It's obvious they care about snorkeling after visiting their glassbottom viewing room!

We love the Kai Kanani for cocktails and sailing for a perfect Maui sunset. This is a different trip from the Molokini cruise because you leave later. Nothing beats being on the open ocean for a gorgeous sunset while being lulled by warm tropical breezes with a cold cocktail in your hand. They also have fantastic pupus for those that are hungry.

Biking Down Haleakala Volcano
If you want to see Maui and enjoy some adventure at the same time, take a fun downhill ride on the slopes of Haleakala Volcano. You'll be taken to the summit to watch the sunset, and then you'll ride from the base of the park for miles with very little pedaling. Ride at your own page with Haleakala Bike Company, the best Maui Biking.
Attend a Maui Luau
Visiting Maui isn't complete without having experienced an authentic luau. At a luau you'll enjoy a large tropical feast, hula dancing, fire dancers, and beautiful music. Enjoy watching the sunset over the water while feasting and enjoying cocktails with friends and family. We highly recommend everyone attend a Maui Luau.
Fly Through the Sky Ziplining
You'll never forget the first time you soar above and through trees. Skyline Eco-Adventures will whisk you along safe zipline courses with incredible views of the ocean and mountains. Experience ziplining with the first zipline course in the United States & enjoy expert guides tell you about the local nature when you Maui Zipline.
Experience the Road to Hana
I'm sure you've heard it before, and I'll say it again. Drive the Road to Hana! You don't have to go all the way to Hana Town in order to experience the beauty of this area. You'll pass beautiful waterfalls and rugged coastal rainforest. This area is incredible and shouldn't be missed. Learn more and see photos and video of the Road to Hana.
Explore the Nearby Island of Lanai
There's no better way to explore Lanai Island than by rafting. Hawaii Ocean Rafting offers exciting trips to Lanai for snorkeling, exploring, whale watching, and scuba diving. This peaceful and quiet island has so much to offer. Finding empty spots around the island to have fun is easy when Rafting Lanai.
Go Whale Watching
By far the best way to see our visiting Humpback whales is by boat in Maui. The whales arrive in Maui waters in order to mate and give birth during our winter season from approximately December to April each year. Choose from this selection of Maui whale watching tours.
Get a Massage
Enjoy the traditional Hawaiian massage of Lomi Lomi, or have a regular, skilled massage that you're used to. Massage Maui is located in front of the Sugar Beach Resort, and with their recent success have opened up on Oahu as well. If you're in Wailea, Kihei, or Lahaina, make the short trip to North Kihei and get a massage in Maui.
Snorkeling Maui
Find sea turtles, vibrant living reef, tropical Hawaiian fish, and incredible clarity by snorkeling off the coast of Maui from the Aikane X5. We love this boat because it offers a maximum of 12 passengers per shared trip! That means you and your friends get a 62 foot power catamaran almost to yourselves! Learn more about Maui snorkeling.
All of the photos taken of the Kai Kanani we're photographed in Maui by Greg Hoxsie. Most of the other photos were taken by Natalie Brown.
